You will learn how to identify a wide range of attacks: viruses, Trojans, social engineering, DDoS and other threats. We'll analyse real-life examples to help you understand how these attacks are carried out and how to protect yourself.

Learn how data encryption works - symmetric and asymmetric methods, digital signatures and public key infrastructure. You will learn how encryption keeps data secure during transmission and storage.

You will learn about password management, two-factor authentication, biometric methods and access control models. Understand how to manage and restrict access to systems and data.

We will discuss how to protect computer networks: firewalls, security tools, network monitoring and protection strategies against internal and external threats. You will learn how to set up and manage network security measures.

Learn how secure protocols and technologies work to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data during transmission. We will discuss practical ways to protect information online.

You will learn how to recognise and respond to incidents and restore systems. We will discuss incident management plans, best practices and legal requirements.

I enjoyed the training and the teacher Modestas Viršila very much, it was not easy, but I did not expect otherwise when I jumped into this digital field. I always felt supported, both by my peers and by the tutor. These three months have gone by far too fast, but I hope to see you again in my new professional field 😄

What to expect after the training?

Gain practical skills

You will learn how to test whether data is properly secured and configure firewalls accordingly, how to hack into and secure a test website, check the encryption status of a website for vulnerabilities, and investigate real cyber incidents.

Learn how to work with the following tools and systems

Antivirus and security measures
Network monitoring and analysis tools
Password and access control systems
Two-factor authentication solutions
Data encryption methods and protocols
Firewall and network security settings

You will learn how to solve practical CTF (Capture The Flag) tasks

CTF tasks are interactive cybersecurity challenges where you will learn how to find vulnerabilities, analyse attacks and 'capture the flag' - the solution - in realistic but secure situations. These practices help you quickly understand how real cyber threats work and give you the skills used by security professionals around the world.

Did you know? These facts may surprise even IT professionals:

 🔹 91 % attacks start with a phishing message.
Cyber criminals first try to trick people, not the system.

🔹 A new cyber-attack occurs every 39 seconds.
This means there are thousands of hacking attempts happening all the time.

🔹 60 % users use the same password for everything.
This is the most common reason why accounts are easily hacked.

🔹 300 % Increased use of IoT in attack design.
Artificial intelligence is used to simulate real people, deepfakes and automated hacking.

🔹 More than 15 % Lithuanians have experienced a phishing attack.
This is a very high number considering the country's population.

🔹 80 % incidents could be avoided by following basic security rules.
Most attacks are not "sophisticated" - they simply exploit human error.
